헐

A short exclamation of surprise, shock, or disbelief — like a verbal gasp. Can be positive or negative depending on context. One of the most commonly used expressions in Korean texting and casual conversation.

Note: Frequently used by older millennials and those in their 20s+ in Korea. Younger Gen Z Koreans tend to use other expressions, so using 헐 can reveal your age group.
